JUDE SCOTT WORKSHOPS
About Jude - our watercolour tutor
We've been working with Jude for more than three years now having done three week-long workshops in the Kimberley and two five day workshops in Albany. The decision to work with Jude was an easy one! On our first meeting we found her to be warm and caring, extremely professional and approachable. She puts the needs of her students first and is easy and fun to be around to boot!
Having worked as a professional watercolour artist and teacher of art for over 20 years, Jude, from Perth Western Australia specialises in watercolour and is represented in private and public collections in Australia, Italy, Japan and China. Jude's desire to create beautiful artworks is inspired primarily by the diversity in light, colour and clarity of the landscapes she has experienced while travelling Australia. Where will you be based?
For 6 nights you will be based at Digger's Rest Station in the east Kimberley, about 2 hours from Kununurra. You'll travel in comfort, venturing "off the beaten track" into wilderness areas not always open to the public. You'll explore deep into the landscape, have unique experiences and meet colourful characters. You'll have your own comfortable Bush Hut, share a Bunkhouse room, or a comfy, stand-up tent to retreat to each evening.
Beginners welcome
Beginners to advanced artists are encouraged to come and extend their skills and enjoy a unique, remote landscape. Max group size is 11.
Fitness
The Kimberley environment is challenging for many reasons, not least the heat. You'll need to be a devoted hat-wearer and water-drinker and be stable on your feet over rugged, loose terrain.
Escape winter
July is peak DRY season in the East Kimberley with maximum temperatures that could reach 36 degrees but usually sit between 28 and 33. Overnight temps average 16 but could dip as low as 10. It is the dry season so rain is possible, but uncommon.
Things to Bring
We'll provide a list of things to bring and art materials you will need for the workshop.
