Tasmania painting and drawing workshop for travellers with Judith White
Thank you for another fabulous art workshop experience. This Tasmania trip ticked all the boxes for me. I loved the locations, accommodations were perfect and the food spectacular. Looking forward to the next adventures in future. Many thanks again, Karen. - 2023 Tasmania trip guest

What kind of workshop?
Have you ever been travelling and wanted to capture what you personally feel and sense in the natural environment; something that’s way beyond your photographic record? Working out what and how to do this while travelling is the essence of this workshop. Judith will demonstrate using a portable amount of mixed media to make painted studies and drawings. You’ll finish some small works and gather ideas and inspiration to develop others on a larger scale during the latter part of the workshop and at home.
Where in Tassie?
We begin with 3 nights in Hobart ~ soak up Hobart’s Salamanca markets, Constitution Dock, MONA gallery, capture the character of old Hobart town in sketches and paintings with Judith (includes studio time) before winding up the coast to immerse in the scenic bays and soaring peaks of Freycinet National Park. After two nights at Freycinet Lodge we travel to Brickendon Estate, the UNESCO World Heritage site that will transport you back in time. Here we have a full day with a beautiful workshop space to work in and consolidate the week's art with Judith. Relish days abundant with art activity and discussion and convivial get-togethers over food and drinks. The trip concludes in Hobart via lunch at picturesque Richmond.
About Judith White
2025 marks our eleventh year working with Judith White - and we simply couldn't have wished for a better tutor - loved by students and loved by us! She has worked professionally as an artist for over 40 years, has countless major art awards and numerous works commissioned by prestigious organisations. Judith works closely with students, helping them find their strengths and direction while sharing techniques she has refined over many years. Guests tell us the reason they come back year after year for Judith's workshops is because they learn so much and grow exponentially as artists. To learn more about Judith, visit her website.
