If you're like me you're always dreaming of that one gloriously solid chunk of uninterrupted time to concentrate solely on your art! Can you imagine finally getting to do just that, far from the distractions of home and the news cycle? Heaven right? Add to that - being somewhere new, not to mention remote, spacious, and visually breathtaking. Such a holiday exists!
This untutored week in the Kimberley incorporates our proven itinerary while providing you with everything you need to enjoy productive, uninterrupted time to create - whether you're an artist, writer or photographer, you'll enjoy the field locations and experiences we have selected over many years of guiding creative people like you throughout this stunning landscape.

Where will you be based?
You will be based at Digger's Rest Station in the east Kimberley, about 2 hours from Kununurra. Digger's Rest is a working cattle station and horse trekking company where you'll meet a cast of colourful characters and experience an authentic slice of Australia few Australians ever see. You'll travel in comfort, venturing "off the beaten track" into wilderness areas not open to the public.

Artists, photographers, writers and creative people who want to work on their art or creative project in an inspiring location. Oil Painters Please Note: You'll need to work in a faster drying medium such as ink, gouache, acrylic or watercolour on this retreat.
The Kimberley environment is physically challenging and you'll need to be in good fitness.
Escape winter -
The Kimberley in May is usually very warm and often humid. Daytime temps average 34 and overnight average is 19. May is early Dry Season so rain is possible but becoming unusual.
The 6 nights will be spent at Digger's Rest where you have a choice of accommodation in a Bush Hut or Bunkhouse Room.
Bush Hut - Bush Huts have a double bed, verandah, mosquito net, toilet, fan, powerpoint, light, towels and linen.
Perks of a bush hut - peaceful, views, visiting wallabies, authentic Kimberley experience.
Bunkhouse room - Each of the two bunkhouse rooms are usually shared by two guests each (unless 3 or 4 friends request to share).
Each bunkhouse room has a double bed plus one or two single beds, air conditioning, overhead fans, towels, linen. The bunkhouse has a shared bathroom.
Perks of the bunkhouse - spacious, air conditioned, large verandahs, close to the homestead.
PRICING (incl GST)
Twin Share Price is $3200pp.
Twin Share option 1: Share with one same sex guest in a spacious, air conditioned Bunkhouse Room (1 DBL bed and 1 SGL bed per room).
Twin Share option 2: For two friends who would like to share a Bush Hut (2 SGL beds). One hut is available in this configuration.
Price for an Unshared, DBL Bush Hut is $3450pp.
Includes Twin Share Price plus a $250 single supplement.
$3040.00pp - Couples taking a DBL bush hut receive a discount of 5% off the TWIN Share Price.
$2960.00pp - Guests who travelled with us for the first time in 2019 (or since) receive a loyalty discount of 7.5% off the TWIN Share price.
$2880.00pp - Guests who first travelled with us in 2018 (or earlier) receive a loyalty discount of 10% off the TWIN Share price.
Add a single supplement of $250 if not sharing a room.
Non-Participating Guest Discount
$3040.00pp - Your friend is welcome to join us and receives a discount of 5% off the Twin Share price. Your Non-participating friend is entitled to everything on the itinerary but they will not be provided with a work space, table, etc, the way other guests are. Add a single supplement if not sharing a room.
#Discounts are not cumulative. Select the best discount that applies to you and nominate it at the time of booking. No Early Bird Discount on this trip.

*The cut off date is the latest date that we will take bookings for a trip. Shortly after the cut-off date we will announce whether we have achieved the numbers for it to go ahead. Early cut-off dates allow our venues and other suppliers time to secure new bookings in the event that our trip does not go ahead.
