My On The Verandah Photographic Adventure (and it truly was an adventure) will be in my memory for a long time. Kununurra has been on my “must visit” list for many years, and to combine a tourist experience with the Photography aspect couldn’t have been a better way to achieve my goal.

About your tutor - Bewley Shayor
Bewley has been with On The Verandah since the very start when we tentatively ran Kimberley workshops with just two or three people. 2017 will be Bewley's fourth season of Kimberley workshops with us and we welcome him back with open arms. He is popular with guests because he has a way of making them feel at ease whatever their skill level.
A veteran of three solo exhibitions and several group shows, Bewley combines a love of photographing people within their environment with a passion for light and composition. His images are published in several books and he directed and shot a short film which screened internationally. As chief photographer for FORM, his recent work has featured in Goods Shed exhibitions Worn Land and The Core as well as an upcoming major show with acclaimed Dutch cloud-artist Berndnaut Smilde.
Escape the winter -
The typical East Kimberley weather in May features an average daytime maximum of 33.5 degrees and average overnight minimum of 20.6 degrees. May is end of the wet season so showers are possible and humidity may be high.

The itinerary includes complimentary welcome champagne, time to fish for barramundi, ride in a bull buggy, crack a whip, visit aboriginal art, meet the locals, hike, one night camp, final night party. (Champagne sunset horse rides are available for experienced riders for an additional charge.)
