Let us introduce you to the region's spectacular wildlife under the lure of the majestic Cockburn Ranges.  Our love for the Kimberley, honed through years of cattle mustering and horse trekking, inspires us to share this magical place with you. You'll visit little known birding hotspots in an area home to well over 200 bird species including some of our most iconic names! A stunning Ramsar wetland is a highlight as is a massive naturalised dam off the tourist trail.

There's more than just bird-watching to get your adrenaline pumping as we have insider access to private land with abundant wildlife including crocodiles, dingo, agile wallaby, short eared rock wallaby, brumbies and more.

No long drives or rough camping - in fact you'll have your own Bush Hut or Bunkhouse room! Stay on a lively cattle station, get to know the staff and owners and feel part of the action.

Our air-conditioned 4WD vehicles with forward-facing seats offer a comfortable ride for this small group with a maximum of 6 guests. Come along for a genuine Kimberley experience, swapping typical tourist busyness for relaxing around a campfire with a Billy tea or a splash of red wine in a quart pot!

Where is the workshop?
The itinerary starts and finishes in Kununurra, WA. Guests fly to Kununurra, usually connecting via Darwin, Broome or Perth.


Fitness
The Kimberley environment is challenging for many reasons, not least the heat. You'll need to be a devoted hat-wearer and water-drinker and be stable on your feet over rugged, loose terrain.

Escape winter
June and July are peak DRY season in the East Kimberley with maximum temperatures that could reach 36 degrees but usually sit between 28 and 33. Overnight temps average 16 but could dip as low as 10. It is the dry season so rain is possible, but uncommon.

  • Non-participating partners (who share a bunkhouse room or bush hut) receive a discount of 5% off.
